Welcome to Carolina and Southern Rail Road.

We are owned and operated by the Holden Family. We are a scale model Hobby Rail Road.  We build and run 1.5 scale trains, (11/2” = 1’), that use 7.5” gauge rails.  Our equipment at this time consists of an F7 engine and with another F7 engine under construction.  We have a flat car and two others cars under construction.  We have a well equipped engine shop where we construct and repair our engines and cars.  We also help our fellow train buffs to build their cars and engines in our shop. At this time we have no riding track as such, but are working with Triad Live Steamers and others to see if it is feasible to start a track here on the Eastern side of North Carolina. 

We also have an HO scale lay out in our 16’ by 12’ train building, which seem to be always in the expansion phase of construction. The layout is approximately 96 square feet on two levels.

We are also a member of Triad Live Steamers/ Harrisburg Division.

If you are interested in Scale Railroads then please visit the Harrisburg site.  We would like to have you see and ride our rails and maybe help us build the site. We do not charge to ride the trains, but do accept donations to help defray the costs. Special events such as birthdays, and private parties there is usually small charge. There is approximately 2,300 feet +/- of hand laid track on the ground with more being laid down every month.
